I remember seeing this beautiful rhododendron in Jim Barlup's back yard in full bloom many years ago. A gold eye in the upper lobe of each flower makes them glow! This plant is nice and compact due to the 'yak' blood. We don't have many low and compact purple rhododendrons in our world, so this one is very worthwhile. This plant makes a very attractive mound in the garden, rarely getting over 4 ft tall. We don't have any accurate hardiness ratings, so we are using the parents to guide us. We would suggest it will be hardy to 0 deg F.
