Native to Japan, Taiwan and eastern China, Pieris japonica is a wonderful plant for any garden. This cultiver, 'Little Heath', is one of the smallest, growing to only 3ft tall x 2ft wide and having very attractive variegated foliage. In the spring, the new growth comes out pink, so at that time there is pink, green and white colors on the plant. The flowers add even another dimension...small white blueberry-like flowers have a light fragrance and hang in clusters 6" long. Useful in offering a contrast to dark green or other colors of foliage in your garden. The plant seems to have no pests or disease problems and is very easy to grow. It is evergreen and highly recommended.
