R. stenopetalum var. Linearifolium

R. stenopetalum var. Linearifolium

Very thin strap-like leaves and flower petals characterize this unusual rhododendron species. The species R. stenopetalum is native to Japan, but this form 'Linearifolium' is not found growing in the wild, so is considered a cultivar.  The plant will grow 3ft tall and the same wide, and has a soft and fluffy appearance.  Often flowering in late spring and again in autumn.  Very unusual and rarely offered.

Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
·        Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
·        Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
