Kalmia latifolia 'Olympic Fire'

Another fine cultivar of Mountain Laurel, 'Olympic Fire' will light up your partially shady nook with bright and cheery pink and white flowers in late spring, and even into early summer. This cultivar will be 5 ft tall and wide after 10 years, and is useful as a hedge or foundation planting. Prefers partial shade, but will perform well in full sun too. Kalmia's like growing in well-drained raised beds with lots of barky organic planting mix, and kept moist but not soggy-wet. Mulching well is recommended. Hardy to zone 4.
