Erica cinerea 'Golden Sport' has amethyst flowers in summer & early autumn, sometimes going from July to November. The long blooming cultivar may be one of the longest flowering of all the Erica cultivars. Found in Germany as a sport on nursery stock, it grows smaller than the species. 10 year old plants will often be 6 - 8 inches tall and a foot wide. This photo of our plant in the garden always draws attention due to the contrast of the lavender flowers against the golden foliage.
