Double Flower Form
Here is a beautiful arboreum rhododendron that is rare. The deep dark red flowers are completely double, one inside the other, and appear early in the year. If you are fortunate to live in a mild winter area this is a great choice to fill in a spot of the yard as it will grow to be 4 ft tall and 6 ft. wide in 10 years. We obtained this form of the species from the late Peter Schick of Fort Bragg, CA.Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
· Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
· Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
