A magnet for hummingbirds, bees and butterflies! Cuphea ignea, commonly known as a Cigar Plant or Firecracker Plant, flowers profusely from summer into fall. The tubular flowers are bright orange with white edging and dark stamens. The glossy foliage will grow up to nearly two feet and flowers line the stems all the way around. It is the perfect garden 'pick me up' just when the dizzying show of spring colors is winding down. This is one more way to keep the garden humming and please the birds and the bees.
