Chamaecyparis pisifera 'White Pygmy'
Similar to Chamaecyparis p. 'Iceburg', but growing a bit smaller, this dwarf, dense, bun form of Sawara cypress has nearly white new foliage in the spring. Excellent for contrast to dark foliage plants. In order to keep it looking its best, plant in partial shade with adequate irrigation. Over time this cultivar will be 12" tall and 18" wide. Found in Japan, then introduced to Europe in 1967 by the nurseryman, R.S. Corley of Frensham, Surrey, UK. Hardy to zone 5.
