Blue Magoo

Blue Magoo

Here is a very unique cultivar of Picea engelmannii that was found by Buchholz Nursery in a batch of seedlings. 'Blue Magoo' is an intermediate-growing upright conifer with short gray-blue needles and a dense symmetrical branching structure. What really makes this plant stand out is the lush new growth, teal blue, in the spring that weeps or droops at the tips, creating a most unusual effect. The branches eventually stiffen to a more typical form in summer. You can expect 'Blue Magoo' to mature at 10 years and will be 6 ft tall and 4 ft wide. Stunning!
