Interestingly this is the only azalea native to Europe. In late spring large clusters (7-17 flowers per cluster) of honeysuckle scented flowers appear on naked stems, or along with the emergence of leaves. The plant is happy in partial shade or sun part of the day. The shrub will grow to 4-5 ft tall and wide in 10 years but can grow much larger over time. The leaves of the form we are offering are quite blue, so contrast nicely to the two-toned yellow flowers. Orange, yellow, and red foliage displays in the fall.
