A sport of the popular evergreen azalea 'Ward's Ruby'. The plant is much smaller in comparison, growing to only 15 inches in 10 years. The flowers are much the same, but because of the size of the plant, they appear more congested. Popular as a bonsai type of azalea. Hardy to zone 8.
