Believed by some to be similar to and superior to 'Bloodgood'. This compact grower comes out in the spring with vibrant red leaves. Then as summer approaches, the foliage turns a very deep red, then finally turning a bright fiery red before it drops its leaves for the year. Reported to be the BESTred upright for the Southeast. Matures around 12 to 15 feet tall and 10 to 15 feet wide. Hardy to zone 5.
