A compact and globe shaped white fir that makes a nice addition to the rock garden or conifer collection. Most reports have this one growing to be 18"-24" tall and wide, but it is also is said to grow 5 ft tall in 10 years. Judging from the current growth habit I would think the smaller globe shape is more correct. Found in the western USA, the plants have vivid silver-blue needles, and would prefer full sun in well-drained soil. Very cold tolerant to -40 deg F.
