Abies concolor 'Conica'

Abies concolor 'Conica'

Here is a great cultivar for those looking for a narrow, slow-growing,conical selection of Whit fir with strongly fastigiate branches. Found in 1923 by B.H. Slavin in Rochester, New York. One can expect this tree to be 4-5 ft tall and 12 inches wide in 10 years. The gray-blue needles are only 1 inch long, shorter than is typical for the species. Few to none were available in the nursery trade until after 1980. Hardy to zone 4.
